Assumptions#
The calculator is intentionally conservative about what it can know.
- The total includes the BACB application processing fee and the Pearson VUE appointment lines entered in the widget.
- The calculator handles one reschedule timing field, not multiple separate reschedules.
- Exact 5-day, exact 48-hour, or partial-day boundaries should be checked in Pearson VUE because the BACB source describes the windows in days and hours.
- Local taxes, travel, background checks, training prices, optional study materials, and employer reimbursement are not standardized by the BACB sources used here.
- A person inside the 48-hour window should check the Pearson VUE account and confirmation email rather than rely on a generic calculator.

Worked Example#
The example below is calculated independently from the same rules the widget uses.
A candidate has one RBT exam appointment and later reschedules 4 days before the appointment. The calculator includes the automatic BACB application processing fee, one Pearson VUE appointment fee, and the 5-days-to-48-hours rescheduling fee. It does not add taxes, travel, training, or optional study materials.
$65 application fee + $45 exam appointment + $32 rescheduling fee = $142
The estimated calculator total for that scenario is $142 before any applicable taxes. A different result would apply if the candidate entered more appointments, added missed appointments, changed the appointment 31 or more days ahead, changed it 30 to 5 days ahead, or tried to make the change within 48 hours.

FAQ
What does the RBT exam cost calculator include?
The calculator includes the BACB application processing fee, Pearson VUE exam appointment fees, additional missed appointments entered by the user, and one BACB-published cancelation or rescheduling fee window.
Is the BACB application fee the same as the exam appointment fee?
No. The RBT Handbook separates the BACB certification application processing fee from the Pearson VUE exam appointment fee. This widget includes both lines in its total so candidates can see the initial application-plus-appointment estimate.
Can I enter taxes, travel, or training costs?
No. Pearson VUE may collect applicable sales tax, VAT, GST, or similar tax, but the widget has no manual add-on field. Travel, training, and employer reimbursement vary outside the BACB fee table.
What happens if I reschedule within 48 hours?
The RBT Handbook says a candidate within 48 hours of the appointment cannot cancel or reschedule, and a refund is not issued. The calculator therefore treats that window as a rule warning rather than a normal reschedule-fee total.
